SHE INVITES ALL HER FRIENDS, FORMER STUDENTS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO JOIN IN CELEBRATING THIS SIGNIFICANT OCCASION.
Date: Monday, June 24
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Public School 3 — 255 Porter Avenue (Niagara Street & Porter Avenue).
The school should be named in her honor, if not immediately, then with a commitment to do so soon in the near future. As the first Latina principal, her exceptional leadership and achievements are widely acknowledged. She is cherished by both teachers and students, and limiting her legacy to just an auditorium does not do justice. Yet, they choose to name the school after someone with fewer accomplishments. This is indicative of the politics within our community. The other names under consideration would surprise you.
The ‘Evelyn Pizarro Public School 3’ sounds far more fitting, resonating like music. It’s time for our community to take notice.
