IN THIS ELECTION, LATINOS SACRIFICED THE WHOLE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FEW

Upon examining the reasons behind support that many Latinos provided to Donald Trump one cannot help but feel disgusted and disappointed. They cast their votes for Trump under the belief that he would improve their individual economic circumstances. However, this perspective is narrow-minded, focusing solely on individual gain rather than the collective welfare. They will ultimately bear the consequences of this mindset. As Trump begins to impose tariffs on imports, prices for consumer will rise, exacerbating the wealth disparity. The repercussions will have an impact on all Latinos. You have displayed little care or concern for our Latino brothers, sisters, family, especially those who are undocumented and will suffer under Trump’s policy on mass deportation. This lack of collective thought and concern, driven by self, have dire consequences. Any Latino American who is black, unable to speak English, or lacking proper identification will find themselves in risk of deportation. We have no collective spirt and this will come back to bite us. In this case you don’t give up the whole for the benefit of the few. When Trump and his administration comes for you. the whole won’t be there to support you. OUR VOICES: OUR VOTE

The time has come to have more than ever our voices heard. GTVO (Get the Vote Out!) Voter suppression and the fact that a lot of times our needs are only heard during election time as part of a cacophony of promises looking for our votes and taking us for granted.   To all these actions and inactions, I say no Mas!   I am seeking an opportunity to bring to the table through my direct participation as a social, legal and political commentator all the issues affecting us as a collective. We are not monolithic.   The question then becomes how I can work as part of a broader collective to discuss all the issues affecting our diverse community and communities within our global persona as Latinos.   This is an offer of action by me.   My request is to all assignment editors, community media members and public forum speakers to invite me to be part of the conversation and dialogue.   I am both an attorney and a community member. I believe that I bring to the table unique experiences and a sensitivity to the legal, social and political issues we are facing at all levels: locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.   I have worked as a commentator, reporter, editor and columnist. I am ready, willing and able to be a full participant in all constructive dialogues and discussions. To help brief and debrief policy issues and to be a facilitator, presenter and or conduit/   Let’s make it happen!   Contact me and let us start the dialogue and the discernment of all issues. Our voices and our votes count today and always.   I can be reached via electronic email at Angelica.AquinoEsqMPA@gmail.com.   My Phone is 917 608-4056.   Read More From This Writer All Post Art Books & Poems Business Column Community Community News Education Entertainment español Food & Culture Health Interviews Media Military & Veterans Music Peace People Politics Sports Technology OUR VOICES: OUR VOTE July 22, 2024/No Comments Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
