The Latin Journal, the inaugural Puerto Rican/Latino newspaper in Buffalo, NY, was published during the 70s and 80s by Alberto O. Cappas. Subsequently, several staff members branched out to establish their own newspapers, leading to the creation of La Ultima Hora and Panorama Hispano. Among the trailblazers were Sauve Rodriguez (Panorama Hispano) and Louis Rodriguez (La Ultima Hora).
Eventually, Edward Martinez developed a passion for communications and succeeded in acquiring Panorama Hispano from Sauve Rodriguez. Both publications enjoy a robust and favorable reputation in Buffalo & Western NY.
Upon returning to Buffalo, NY in 2014, Alberto O. Cappas launched a new periodical, the Buffalo Latino Village, complementing La Ultima Hora and Panorama Hispano, thus providing the Puerto Rican/Latino community in Buffalo with three monthly publications.
We invite our community to contribute to this narrative.
Please share your comments and stories regarding these three publications.
